Overview
The Interactive Terrain Shaping technology preview provides users with a unique workflow for developing grading proposals in AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2012 software. The primary goal of this effort is to provide a holistic approach to terrain shaping that allows users to go from concept to completion using the same model. The intent is to facilitate the development of comprehensive grading plans that can be easily tuned through the project cycle.
This new workflow includes:
- Purpose-built grading operations that interact with other grading objects
- Control over grading hierarchy and operations
- Direct analytical feedback including earthwork and stage-storage volumes
- Extraction of solids and Civil 3D grid surfaces
This technology preview extends AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012.
- There is no change to Civil 3D object model. However, Interactive Terrain Shaping objects will only be enabled on systems where the technology preview is installed.
- The Interactive Terrain Shaping technology preview creates a new tab where you will find creation, editing and analytical commands
Supporting information:
