GETTING STARTED AS A USER

To get started, simply download the plugin. Each plugin is provided as a ZIP file. Unzipping the ZIP file provides a set of files that includes a Read Me document. The Read Me provides information on how to install.

GETTING STARTED AS A DEVELOPER

The drivers behind the plugin of the month technology preview are to:

  • Solve customer problems,
  • Demonstrate the benefits of investing in software customization,
  • Get feedback on the solutions and customization process.

We're encouraging people outside of Autodesk to provide plugins through this initiative, bringing attention to their development skills. As mentioned in the Overview, we will – as a requirement – be making the source-code available for these plugins. We will be giving clear credit, on the website and in the plugin’s ReadMe, to the person who developed and provided a particular plugin. If you have a topic for a plugin you would like to see developed or you have your own you would like to make available as a "plugin of the month" on Autodesk Labs, please contact us at labs.plugins@autodesk.com.
