Project Showroom
With Project Showroom, you can try a home makeover without ever leaving home!
Project Showroom is a technology preview for Autodesk's vision of a new web-based home decorating tool. It allows you to browse product selections from leading manufacturers, and get a feel for how those products will look in real-world settings. Try it! It’s free and open to anyone.
The preview is easy to use. Simply select products of interest; then drag and drop them into the virtual space. Project Showroom requires no download and no special software. All you need is a standard web browser.
What’s New in the Latest Version
Thanks to everyone who has tried Project Showroom and sent in comments/suggestions. With your feedback, we have focused our latest efforts to offer:
- Improved photorealistic rendering.
- A wider variety of scenes (2 kitchens and a bathroom), with a representative sampling of real manufacturers’ content.
- A simplified UI to make it easier to drag and drop items into the virtual scene.
- Make your choices to customize your own scene, save it, list the contents, and email a link to your friends.
- Share your designs with your friends on Facebook.
Take a test-drive
Give Project Showroom a spin and let us know what you think! Here are some things you can try:
- Choose a room from under the Scenes tab and select a camera view using PREVIOUS and NEXT arrows at the bottom of the viewport. Use the Items and Surfaces tab to select design options provided by partner manufacturers, including: American Standard bathroom and kitchen products, Delta® Faucets, Dupont® Corian® and Eskandari Stone countertops, Mannington® floors, Merillat® cabinets, Behr® paint, and Electrolux® and Jenn Air® appliances.
- Drag and drop Items and Surfaces to add them to your scene. When you make a change, a new realistic scene with your latest selections should pop up in a matter of seconds.
- Click on an object within the scene (including the painted walls) to see a description of the object and to find more information about it.
- Tell us what you think via email (labs.showroom@autodesk.com), the newsgroup, or post comments on the blog. We welcome your input.
