Project Showroom

Project Showroom is a demonstration project exploring how consumers can use the web to navigate virtual spaces, browse product selections, and view the selected product in a realistic context.

The specific case currently demonstrated is that of a residential bathroom. The consumer can move around the bathroom, select products from a list of product options, and view them realistically rendered in place. This scenario might be a homebuilder demonstrating options to potential buyers, or product manufacturers allowing prospective customers to visually experiment with different options. Project Showroom requires no client software other than a standard web browser.

Give Project Showroom a spin and let us know what you think! Here are some things you can try:

  • Look through the products in the Select Upgrades list, and click on the hyperlink for each item to replace it with another item.
  • Click on an object on the scene (including the painted walls and ceiling) to see a description of the object and opportunities to upgrade it to another product.
  • Drag and drop accessories to add them to scene.
  • Use the navigation controls to zoom in or out, and to focus on any object in the scene.
  • Tell us what you think via email (labs.showroom@autodesk.com), the newsgroup, or post comments on the blog.

Try it!
