Customize 3D human character models in a simple web experience.

OVERVIEW

Project Pinocchio is a free* technology preview that leverages Autodesk's powerful 3D design and animation tools to provide you with a web-based laboratory where you can create fully-rigged custom 3D characters. Design a creation of your own or modify existing stock characters using a variety of pre-defined body types, facial features, and clothing styles for inclusion in 3D games, animations, and scenes.

Using a web browser and Project Pinocchio, you can create, customize, and download your very own rigged 3D characters from a catalog of over 100 body types, outfits, hairstyles, and physical attributes in a few simple steps. Once you create a character, you can use it in a variety of Autodesk modeling tools to create imagery and movies.

AVAILABILITY

This technology preview is available until September 30, 2013 after which the web portal may come down.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

You can use the links on the right side of this page to provide feedback.

We share projects on Autodesk Labs when we need feedback to help us take them to the next level. Project Pinocchio allows us to explore a workflow for making complex modeling tasks easier for our digital entertainment customers. After you use Project Pinocchio, we hope that you will share your experiences with us. The biggest way you can help is to send us examples of imagery and movies that you create with your characters. Did you create an awesome short and post it on YouTube? Send us the link. Did you create an artistic scene with a curiously posed character? Send us a render!
