  • RDB Link Tool for Revit

    Use the RDB Link tool to easily import and export data from project elements created using the Autodesk Revit family of products, while maintaining relationships with non-Revit data. Once data has been imported, RDB Link enables you to revise your database within the project. To further maintain consistency, when other data is exported to the same database, only project-specific data is affected. New fields or tables added to the database remain consistent alongside newly exported data. The technology preview ended on January 1, 2010. Thanks to everyone who partiicpated in the preview.   • Shrinkwrap Add-in for Inventor

    The technology preview for Shrinkwrap for Inventor has ended. The Shrinkwrap add-in helps you create envelope parts from Autodesk Inventor assemblies. The Shrinkwrap add-in takes advantage of Inventor softwares derived part workflows to create a stand-alone, single part solid version of a model assembly. Identify component voids to be filled with solid materials, and the Shrinkwrap add-in fills any internal voids remaining in the assembly.   • Navigation Bonus Tool for AutoCAD

    The technology preview for the Navigation Tool for AutoCAD has ended. Add intuitive back and forward display navigation to AutoCAD software, similar to a web browser experience. The Navigation Tool tracks your active drawing, viewport, and layout switches, and adds them to your history for future reference.   • Alias Studio Direct Reader for Inventor 2009 SP1

    Communicate more effectively across industrial design and engineering teams with direct reading of native Autodesk Alias wire files into Autodesk Inventor software. The translator reads surfaces, shells, solids, and curves from the Alias file. This capability helps to reduce errors introduced by translations of geometry into intermediate formats such as STEP or IGES. This functionality is now present in Inventor 2010 and future versions.

  • MEP Analysis Extension for AutoCAD MEP/Revit MEP

    The MEP Analysis Extension contained 25 simple "green" HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) utilities for sizing duct work, sizing piping, sizing HVAC equipment, calculating cooling and heating loads for commercial and residential buildings, calculating psychrometric properties of air, performing U-Value calculations, sizing electrical wire, and much more, all in the name of saving energy and the environment. The executable ran through March 31, 2009. Thank you for the feedback during the technology preview period which as ended.

    On March 24th 2009, Inventor LT graduated from a free* Technology Preview product and is no longer be available from Autodesk Labs. If you wish to continue using Inventor LT after your Inventor LT 2009 license expires on May 1, 2009, a commercially available and officially supported product will be available for license by purchase only in two ways, depending on your country of residence:

    1. AutoCAD Inventor LT Suite: If you live in Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the United States, you will be able to purchase Inventor LT 2010 as part of the recently announced AutoCAD Inventor LT Suite 2010, which includes all the exciting new features of Inventor LT 2010 as well as the latest version of AutoCAD LT software for 2D drafting and detailing - all at a remarkable value.

    2. Autodesk Inventor LT 2010: If you live in Canada or the United States, you will also have the option of purchasing Inventor LT 2010 as a standalone product.

    Since May 2007, the feedback of over 50,000 users of the Technology Preview helped shape the future of Autodesk Inventor LT.   • Drawing Cleanup Utility for AutoCAD

    The Autodesk Consulting Drawing Clean-Up Utility is a productivity tool which simplifies and streamlines the often time-consuming task of cleaning up and structuring DWG data to meet organization standards. This utility is designed for people who receive unstructured or non-standard DWG files which must be cleaned up in order to load cleanly into a system that requires structured data. Its graphical user interface provides immediate feedback and macros automate repeatable operations.

    The Autodesk Consulting Drawing Clean-Up Utility is designed for people who are familiar with CAD, but who are not CAD experts. It works with all 2007-2009 AutoCAD-based products on an XP 32 bit platform.

  • Command Complete Bonus Tool for AutoCAD

    Command Complete is Intellisense for the AutoCAD command line, providing easy access to over 1400 commands and sysvars. As you type in the command prompt, a popup list appears displaying the list of commands and sysvars that match the input. This bonus tool can save AutoCAD command line power users a lot of typing. The technology preview has come to an end. This type of functionality can be considered for a future AutoCAD release.

    The XVL Translator Add-in for Inventor 2008 has graduated to become compatible with Autodesk Inventor 2009 as an XVL Converter available from Lattice Technology. XVL compression technology allows everyone in the manufacturing digital pipeline to use 3D design data - even for large and complex assemblies. With the free XVL Player and XVL Studio from Lattice Technology, XVL enables quick and easy access for everyone in every stage of digital prototyping: design review, digital assembly, manufacturing process instruction and simulation, technical illustration, customer service, marketing, sales, quality control, product development and supply chain management. For those of you who are still using Autodesk Inventor 2008, you can continue to download the 2008 compatible version of the add-in.

    Thanks to you, we've graduated the translator add-ins into the Inventor 2009 family. This functionality has been included in the latest versions of Inventor (Inventor 2009). So you can continue to easily exchange data between Autodesk Inventor, UGS, SolidWorks and Pro/ENGINEER by: importing and exporting Parasolid, importing UG-NX, importing SolidWorks, importing and exporting GRANITE, and importing Pro/E directly with Inventor. If you are working with the earlier 2008 version, you may continue to download and use these tools, but we are no longer actively reviewing issues from this Labs technology preview as we are monitoring the functionality in the released product.
