Project Draw 0.7: Faster and Prettier

In my post about Project Draw 0.7 being released, I highlighted Google Gears. In fact I followed it up with a few other posts:

I should also mention that the Project Draw 0.7 release includes:

  • Multi-select shape operations have been optimized.
Autodesk Labs Software Engineer, Shelly Mujtaba, reworked much of the foundational code to improve the speed of multi-select. Once upon a time, if you selected more than a few dozen shapes and tried moving them around on the Draw canvas, you would see noticeable delays causing jerky movements. Not any more - try it for yourself, and you will see how smooth multi-select is.

  • The color palette has been expanded.
With the release of 0.7, you can see all the pretty new colors? Shelly allowed the palette to go from:

    Before_draw

    to:

    After_draw

Please check out these new capabilities and let us know what you think: Labs.Draw@autodesk.com. Continuing to rapidly explore diagram creation using a "software as a service" approach is alive in the lab.
