My Day in Sedona, Arizona

This weekend my brother and his wife visited us in Scottsdale, Arizona. My wife and I took them to beautiful Sedona for a Pink Jeep tour. The Jeep starts out like this:

It takes you to see rock formations along the fault lines. You can see where two of the earth's plates have shifted about 6 inches:

The fun really begins when the Jeep goes up and down inclines of up to 42 degrees:

On parts of the trail with names like the Road of No Return, it looks harrowing as you come down:

but then you get to look back and see where you've been:

It's all worth it to get to see rock that has been sculpted like sand castles over millions of years:

amidst layers of sedimentary rock with its vibrant colors:

A good time was had by all:

Today it's Monday so work is now again alive in the lab.
