Wiimote Commands for Autodesk Design Review 2008

My post about the Wii Remote, A Wii Bit of Fun, generated tons of interest. People seem to be enamored with the Wii. Some of you asked about how one controls Autodesk software using the steps Brian Pene laid out:

This graphic depicts the mappings Brian used for Autodesk Design Review 2008 commands and shortcuts, but it isn't limited to these by any means. You can completely customize any aspect of any application now that the Wiimote events are fully exposed. For instance you could even use a variety of event stacks from the Wiimote, combined with gesture recognition algorithms, to have the Wiimote recognize gesture movements.

Brian has a Glovepie script that works based on these mappings with Autodesk Design Review. To use it, open the script Wiimouse_ADR.PIE in Glovepie and run it with the Wiimote connected via bluetooth.

Thanks Brian. "This little piggy went to market. This little piggy stayed home. This little piggy had roast beef. This little piggy had none. This little piggy cried wii wii wii all the way home." Considering low-cost alternative input devices with powerful CAD software is alive in the lab.

Since Autodesk Design Review is on the forefront on this, it being view only, we could do it in that group.

I think we need to setup a discussion area for developing ideas about how the Wii remote and nunchuck can be used navigate and manipulate designs in Autodesk software and to share scripts for testing and development. Could we get another discussion forum under Autodesk Labs? Or is there already such a place.
